Invisible Character FAQ
Copy & paste invisible characters (blank space) for Discord, Instagram, WhatsApp — including U+3164 and U+200B.
This FAQ explains invisible characters (also called blank characters or invisible text) and why they work differently across apps. If you are trying to copy a blank space that survives saving, you usually need a real Unicode character—not regular whitespace.
Use the quick copy tool above to generate invisible characters, test them, and pick the best one for your platform.

FAQ
What is an invisible character?
An invisible character is a Unicode character that is treated as text but renders as blank space. It is different from typing normal spaces that apps often trim.
Which invisible character should I copy?
Start with U+200B (Zero Width Space). If it is filtered, try U+3164 (Hangul Filler) or U+2800 (Braille Blank). Test to see what stays blank on your device.
Why does my blank text disappear after saving?
Many apps normalize whitespace or filter certain code points. Copy with a button, increase quantity, and switch character type until it persists.
Are invisible characters safe?
Yes—these are standard Unicode characters. They won’t harm your device, but some platforms may restrict their use in names or messages.
Does this work on mobile?
Yes, but mobile keyboards can change pasted text. If it fails on mobile, try copying with the button or setting it on desktop first.
Do you use meta keywords?
No. We intentionally avoid a keywords meta tag because modern search engines do not use it.
How to use invisible characters safely
- Copy an invisible character using the Copy button (button copy is more reliable than selecting “blank” text).
- Paste into the test box to confirm it is actually invisible in your browser.
- Paste into your target app (Discord/Instagram/WhatsApp). If it fails, increase quantity (3–10) or switch character type.
- If a platform blocks one code point, try another (U+200B, U+3164, U+2800 behave differently).
- Re-open the app/editor after saving to confirm the blank-looking text didn’t get normalized.
Notes
- Google does not use meta keywords; we intentionally do not output a keywords tag.
- Invisible characters are standard Unicode. They are safe to copy, but platform rules may restrict how they are used.
- Avoid impersonation or deceptive formatting—use invisible text responsibly.
More details
What is an invisible character?
An invisible character is a Unicode character that displays as empty space (or nearly empty) in most fonts. Apps treat it as text, even though you can’t see it.
People use invisible characters for blank names, blank messages, spacing, and clean formatting. The important point: invisible Unicode is not the same as typing normal spaces, which many apps trim or collapse.
Common invisible characters (U+200B, U+3164, U+2800)
Different “blank” characters have different compatibility. If one fails, switching characters is usually faster than repeating the same paste.
- Zero Width Space (U+200B): very common; great for tight separators but sometimes filtered in strict contexts.
- Hangul Filler (U+3164): often works for blank names when U+200B is blocked.
- Braille Blank (U+2800): widely accepted; can render as a wider blank depending on font.
Why does invisible text not work sometimes?
Invisible text fails when the platform normalizes whitespace, filters specific Unicode ranges, requires a minimum visible length, or your keyboard replaces the character during paste.
Fix order: increase quantity → switch character type → change device (desktop vs mobile) → change the target field (Display Name vs Nickname, etc.).
- “This field is required” → increase quantity (10–30) and retry.
- Looks blank in editor but not after saving → you pasted normal spaces; copy again using the button.
- Send button disabled (messengers) → paste a larger quantity or switch character type.
Which character should I use for Discord / Instagram / WhatsApp?
There is no single best invisible character for every app. Use the one that survives the platform’s validation and renders as blank on the device you care about.
- Discord blank name: start with U+200B; if blocked, try U+3164 or U+2800.
- Instagram blank bio: U+200B is great for clean lines; increase quantity if spacing collapses.
- WhatsApp blank message: if one character is treated as empty, increase quantity or switch to U+3164.
